I do not know the brands or the correct answer to your question.
I do not know the brands or the correct answer to your question. If I were to guess, I'd say that he used multiple (meaning several) guitar tracks, some tracks having a tube amp on them and other tracks with the solid state amps. Then they are panned and mixed. Plus Dimebag used alot of distortion, and I'm quite sure he knew what a Distressor was, weather he used a Distressor on everything, I do not know either. But the articles I read, always made his setup sound like there was "more to it". No matter how much Dimebag talked during interviews. If you do a google on Dimebags interviews, you can find out alot more about Dime's setup.
Reguardless, I do not believe, Dime ONLY used solid state amps, esp because "who" has seen this solid state amp that we all here about him recording with. I've never even seen the 1st picture of him with a solid state amp. One things for sure, he never played one on stage.
Sorry I don't know for sure
Take care

The difference between appreciating talent and being a fanatic:
Willingness to wade through the above link's information from a guitar newsgroup.
I am only an appreciator. Someone help.

He used solid state amps for sure. Solid state amps don't "suffer" from sag like tube amps do. Especially when you're driving them to saturation. As to how he got his tone, your guess is as good as mine.
