Checked this out yesterday, im glad you showed a couple of the confusing pitfalls about melodyne etc! Seems like a very fast way to get things done if things are set up ahead of time.
One thing that seems odd, which could be my ignorance, is when you froze the mono kick track it seemed to be converted to stereo, is that what happened?

Usually, you select mono and then freeze the track and it stays mono.. but, might be a bug, it didn't work when I did the video..
At least it doesn't affect the detection..
I hope they add a thresold setting to the audio to midi fonction, in a future version.. it would simplify things greatly.. ;)
