If you have L-R, mono, etc. outputs on the top (or rear) of the board you can bypass the amp. Then it just becomes a feature you can use if you ever need it.
Unless you _need_ a second mixer for some purpose.

Have a look here, some may be powered, but probably not.
Also I don't know how much of a weight reduction you'd get by not having an amplifier in it. Is it even worth the, say, $1k you'd have to shell out?
