any recommendation?

a dealer i know swears on dbx 376 (tube, 750 Eu for a single channel). any opinion?

Even the 386 goes for about the same price, and it's a dual channel tube pre with digital I/O; for the money I heard good things, but it obviously won't sound not even close to a € 2000 preamp with a € 2000 converter (you get what you pay for), but it seems that in that price range it's a good sounding unit, and with the converter onboard it's ready for straight to DAT or DAW recording, my dealer A/Bed it with a Joemeek (can't remember the model, but it was a dual channel pre), and the dbx was the winner.
