Lately I have been forcing myself to only invest in things I will use and things that are useful to me, instead of falling for sexy descriptions and flash bang ideas of lust. It's hard, but I'm trying.

Variety and quality of effects are important to me. In the last 2 years I have bought and sold an Alesis midiverb III, 3630 comp (junk), Lexicon mpx 500, TC M-One, Korg Kaoss Pad2, and a TC Fireworx.
I found the Alesis & Lexcion units to be very dark and cold, with a piss poor sound.
TC products seem to have a particular vibe going on that just dont do it for me.

Still standing are Kurzweil Mangler, Ensoniq DP/4, and my TL Audio C1. I would say that a lot of what I do is effect based, and please dont tell me to get the sound right without effects because it makes no sense in my case. There's a question in here I *swear*

Looking at the top end I see the following:
Kurzweil KSP8
&
Eventide 4000/5000.

I love my mangler and I know a lot of that is ported straight from the ksp, and it has 8 channels of IO right? WOW!
The eventide seems to be a flagship. I have no knowledge or experinece with them, but I know the 8000 model is too far out of my range for this year.

Any of you use either of these?
What sort of music are you making with them?
Was it worth it?
Who wins in a sluggin match?
