From your screen name I assume you are a drumer. Just a thought, instead of the Presonus Firebox, it might be better to get two Presonus Inspires so you could simultaneously record up to 4 mic channels. You may also want to look at mic combinations that cover the whole drum kit. Searching these forums to find the mic combo you need might be helpful. Or mayby someone will post some recomendations.
Ok, so I've come along way as far as research goes from when I originally posted this. Something I forgot to originally mention was that I have a Yamaha MG 16/4 mixer. As far as sound interface i'm going to be going with something more along the lines of of the PRESONUS FIREPOD or possibly something like yamaha's o1X mLan which looks pretty nice.
As far as drum mic set up, i plan on micing the toms and snare with sm57s, and the bass with a akg D112. i'm still undecided as far as overheads. any suggestions there?
