Funny you should mention the steinberg posting...I had to find out through someone who downloaded it from there...they never asked me about that either! lol
I get free software because of it as well! I do give them updates as I do them but they never seem to post the updates!! der :p

Opus,
You didn't know about the Steinberg posting? Oww...oh well, they gave you plenty of credit as Opus2000 and your real name. They also mentioned Recording.org. Yes it is painfuly obvious that the pcidiotlabs guide is the same as yours. I mean what are the odds they would randomly use the same phrasing repeatedly by chance through the whole document?
Exactly FATS!!! They still have yet to email me back.....in fact
Exactly FATS!!! They still have yet to email me back.....in fact they're right here in Sherman Oaks.....I think I might have a contact that can get me in touch with them.
Time to start networking and get on to a possible "Intellectual Property" issue here! Hee Hee!!
Opus :D

Ok, the guy just emailed me and apologized and obviously didn't see my information posted on top and bottom of the guide. He's cool about it!
Also, FATS, I put that blurb about RO there! Free advertising for Chris and the gang! I would never dare leave this site out of anything I do! This is truly my heart and soul of the forums and internet! This place ROCKS!!!!
Peace

Opus... Since I'm also the webmaster for my brothers music store, I was planning to make a "Guide for making music on your PC". ( but in swedish) Is it OK if I use and translate stuff that you've written? I will of course give you full credit for all this knowledge and add links to RO and your own site...
I want to do this for 2 reasons:
1. I need to sort out all the information I get when I search for the best solution for my own DAW.
2. There's very little good and available information about this in swedish.
As a disciple of Opus, I just just want spread the gospel of the "Asus Northwood User Society" :D

I noticed one thing different on their version:
" If you have 512MB RAM set this to 768 for Min and Max
If you have 1024MB RAM set this to 1536 for Min and Max"
In your tutorial you say to use a 384MB page file for 512MB or 1GB RAM.
Which in your opinion is correct and why? I'm asking because I just built twin recording boxes using your tweak guide and want to get this setting right. Thanks.
Well, gee....what answer do you think I will give?!!! lol Mine
Well, gee....what answer do you think I will give?!!! lol
Mine of course! Here's the reason...this AudioPC Lab guy is a network admin...he's used to dealing with Server machines and network components...XP with that much memory does not need to have that much of a swap file. It's redundant at best.
DAW machines with 512 or more memory do not use the swap file like they used to on Win2k or lower...XP has a completely different way of handling it now...
HTH
