Hello,
I was wondering if anyone in the DC/ Baltimore area would have a grace hanging kit for the 30cm stereo bar I could borrow/rent for this coming weekend? I have tried to purchase it at several places but no one has it in stock, including the company itself. The part number is SB-HB-30/66.
I would need it from Saturday to Tuesday, 22 Sept- 25 Sept.
Thanks
What is it you are actually hanging? You know you don't have to
What is it you are actually hanging? You know you don't have to have the Grace to simply hang microphones with. There is a plethora of available hardware, from the music store and even the hardware store that can be utilized for microphone hanging purposes. Chuck Levins Washington Music Center & Levins Washington Pro has all sorts of stuff to hang microphones with. I've hung microphones for many many years, utilizing all sorts of available hardware parts and pieces with great results. But without specifying what you are hanging, I can't give you a straight answer. Your question is sort of like I need a gallon of gas in a blue gas can and I can find no blue gas cans. And they tell you not to use old plastic milk containers, and I don't know what to do?
When you hang up microphones in different venues, you frequently find that you cannot always use the same microphone hanging hardware, everywhere. Sometimes we just hang the microphone by the microphone cable and tie it off utilizing monofilament fishing line. Other times we simply get this straight chrome metal length of tubing from a simple microphone stand and boom. We removed the boom. We remove the weight. We attach clamps with microphone stand threads. Put the microphones on it. Suspended by the microphone cabling and use monofilament fishing line to position the boom pole mount pulling it forward or to the rear for the positioning we want. It's no big deal. It's just some hardware. Put your imagination thinking cap on and construct what you need, simply and inexpensively.
There is more than one way to sink a microphone
