I'm originally from Detroit. First question, how can you be from Pontiac when they don't make Pontiacs anymore? Next question: all of your all of your proposed selections are excellent. I like Neve. So I would go with the 73 by [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.vintech-…"]Vintech[/]="http://www.vintech-…"]Vintech[/]. I like and have used a lot of Newman's and I happen to like the 103. It's basically a transformer less, cardioid only, 87. Incredibly hot output level. I've never bothered playing with those others on your list. I'd have no reason to. Those two items I mentioned are a winning combination. Your biggest drawback and disadvantage is that M Box piece of crap. So why worry about that other stuff if you're going to plug it in to that piece of crap? Why not get an Apogee? Is it the ProTools software you love so much? Version 9 & 10 will accept anything like the Apogee. So make a little more sense than your selections and then you'll really have something good going for you. I have Neve & API and not just a couple and I really hate my M Box. I only got that a couple of years ago so I could have Pro tools version 7. And I'll tell you right now that neither my API nor mine Neve loads properly into that M Box piece of crap. It clips everything. It sounds like doggie Doo Doo. So I'm trying to be honest with you, rethink everything. Or, don't bother with any of that other stuff and strictly rely upon the M Box by itself. That's the only way it sounds good. It sounds good when you don't play anything else into it at all. Now what do you think about that? I'm sorry, I know my response was rather offensive. I find the M Box just as offensive.

BTW, I find any company that does not supply a schematic to generally be NOT PROFESSIONAL. And Avid will not supply you with a schematic for their " proprietary " piece of crap. What's that tell you?

Also, Black Lion Audio will modify your piece of crap to sound better. But they had to trace out everything since they were also not supplied any schematics by Avid even though Avid recommends them if you want their products improved. WTF with that? It tells you you are already using an inferior product and by their recommendation to me they have verified that.

You can tell I'm not a fan of their hardware. I don't feel quite the same way about their software.
