Can anoyone tell me how do they get this cutting sound on the vocals of this track:

http://listen.groov…"]Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming[/]="http://listen.groov…"]Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming[/]

The effect Im talking about starts at 1:27

Its like they cut parts of the waveform, and so it sounds rythmic when it cuts off and then back on.

Do they do this by editing the waveform?
Is this some kind of sidechain compression?

Thank you experts!

Sorry! Thats true... I Lost the song... Ill create another post when I get a hold of it.

Thanks though!

What album and what song? That link doesn't go directly to the track you're asking about.

If you're asking about the song "Digitalism In Cairo", and being that it's electronica music, check out [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.izotope…"]iZotope Stutter Edit[/]="http://www.izotope…"]iZotope Stutter Edit[/]. It's a new plug-in that will probably do that effect for you.
