I'm new to this website, and i'm not positive if i'm in the right forum, but I really need some help with my setup. I can't stand working on huge logic pro projects on my small laptop screen, so i got a nice Sony bravia LED monitor. But for SOME UNEXPLAINABLE REASON, I keep getting a deep feedback through my studio monitors whenever I have the monitor hooked up. The second I plugin the mini display port to HDMI adapter into my laptop, I get instant feedback, not like it even kicks in once recognized by my computer. My monitors are hooked up through my USB mixer, so i tried hooking the mixer up to the laptop with USB, and 1/8" to component, but both get feedback. if anyone has any idea of how to get rid of this feedback, it would be AWESOME. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a simple ground loop problem. I purchased a cheap 'Ground Loop Isolator' (Skytronic brand) from eBay and it cut 99% of the studio monitor feedback that I was getting from my LED monitor (via minidisplay) and even slight feedback from my MBP 13" mains adapter.
Thought I'd return to this post to share the solution for others...
(Most ground loop isolators I've seen are male to female RCA adapters rather than Jack/XLR etc. This suited me because I connect my monitors via an Audio 6 sound card Mono RCA to 1/4 Jack)
