--
I have purchased a new set of sennheiserhd497's as a way to "hear" my mixes without speaker-added distortions and overtones etc. i was hearing lots of distortion, but could not be positive it was not in my mix, though i suspected this to be the case, I could not prove it to myself from listening
Maddening? frustrating? a real pisser? uh .. yeah.
I have had these almost a week.
Headroom is a very gracious vendor of headphones let me say that .
I will recieve a new pair Monday, and drop these in fedex's box, but...
this is just like my experiences with a pair of Advent speakers, i kept blowing out the tweeters on.
How do other people who listen "loud" keep from destroying their speakers/headphones. . as the Sound distributors told me back then, " highly-efficient" are a great deal more "fragile" than "cheap" ones
Just like young BugEyesPiano"Boy" made us all aware of... you get more mileage from a cheap set of speakers. whatdo youdo?
Can you get anything thats not so fragile that has a decent sn ratio?
anyone?
thanks
A good pair of in ear monitors should give you a good S/N ratio.
A good pair of in ear monitors should give you a good S/N ratio. They have to be the better plugs though so all external noise is blocked out. I have had Shure's top line recommended to me.
