There´s a lot of hype around Jensen transformers IMO. They seem to be pretty good compared to other US transformer winders. But many people are not aware of highest quality transformer companies in the rest of the world. Here in Germany we have Pikatron or Haufe amongst others. These companies did all of our broadcast stuff like Siemens, Telefunken, TAB, Lawo, Filtek, EMT, etc. and still know how to do that. Haufe, btw, is still able to wind the famous Siemens V72 transformers. The only reason why you cannot buy them is that nobody is ordering them because of the price. Sowter replacements are wound differently to keep the price down.
I know of a console company who was testing transformers for their mic inputs, Jensen amongst them. They have been outperformed by Haufe transformers. I don´t want to promote any transformer brand but just wanted to clarify that there are many more options.

No offense taken.
The reason I posted this clip was because I'm doing a transformer/op amp comparison in another thread, using a mic pre amp in which both the transformers and the op amps can be switched out for different character and color.
I didn't have any of the transformers you mentioned, I was limited to what I had, and the Jensen J- 110 was one of these.
Both the Jensen and the John Hardy 990C scored very high among the choices.

This thread should be called: John Hardy´s favorite input transformer out of the Jensen product line for his Jensen 990 DOAs on the input of his preamp.
Other transformer companies are easily able to wind trannies with the same specs if you ask them. One should not think that this statement could be generalized to any Jensen transformer for any application ;-)
