I was wondering what people thought of the Korg D16xd. I'm thinking about spending 2 grand on this but I wanted some opinions. :-?

Not many "All In One" DAW users around here. Just make sure you do your research, and READ THE FINE PRINT. The VS2000 and Korg 16/32 BOTH have limited track count at 24 bit / 44.1K recording depth (24 bit is the industry standard, and reduced track count at 24 bits is not desirable IMO).
FWIW - I have a VS-2480 that I use. It was my main recorder, but I have upgraded to Nuendo and a PC (plug ins ROCK!!!!). If you look on eBay, you can find a used 2480 for like $2000 or less! The Akai DPS24 is also a good "All in one" for about $2000 used.
Also, if you plan on interfacing with a PC, or other DAW's, research the "File Portability" of these units. I know Roland can be a bitch about file portability (although the VS2000 does have USB IIRC).
Go to your local Music Store and spend a few hours on a few different days playing with this stuff. $2000 is a descent investment, and you will want to be certain that YOUR choice meets YOUR needs...
What, are these units piles of poo or does everyone avoid a newb
