I've been using the m-audio omni studio (delta66 w/ omni io) for some time and I am wanting to get my dad set up with the omni usb for his laptop. I presume that they work the same and have the same quality. I noticed, though, that the omni's are discontinued and I was wondering if people have had problems with them?
Also, I've seen a lot on here about the mobilepre. Is there anything that makes the omni so much better? I can still get the omni from musician's friend, so it's tempting. I just don't feel right about getting a discontinued product when a production one is available. I do really like the extensive options of the omni, though.
I should mention that this will be used mostly for speaking. He's a preacher and will be using it mostly to record/master messages (not live, home studio). There may be some electric guitar recording every now and then. That would be fed through a pod.
