Anyone around here hardcore enough to program in MAX and/or MSP? There was a "review" (not quite) of the current versions in Recording magazine, and I thought I saw something about being able to address serial devices. I'm interested because the computer guided routing and mute automation in my A&H CMC board was designed to go deeper by hooking up to a Commodore 64 with certain hardware and software. I haven't really pushed my use of the automation, but I want the power available should I ever need it. I was wondering if any users know if it would be reasonable to use the MAX/MSP stuff to address a custom spliced cable and talk to the onboard computer (64 4 bit addresses, according to the manual).

(Someone made a PC version using visual basic, but it's ginormous and rudimentary. I figure MAX/MSP could do smaller and more elegant.)
