Hello

Let's suppose I take my recordings in a nice sounding environment, on a soundcard with good converters, with the right mics etc, then I take those mixdowns home for some
volume/compression editing on a standard pc, will the cra°py pc soundcard affect
my recordings at some point?

My answer would be "no", but I'd like to hear some elaborations from the real experts here.

Made recordings can't be affected by a soundcard, unless you use outboard fx or re-loop the mix through the card.
But whatever you compress, mix, EQ and pan will be made by what you hear.
A crappy soundcard, just like bad monitor speakers and room reflections, etc., can mess up your work just nicely.
It is not (only) for fun that studios spend fortunes on gear and room acoustic treatment.
