Can someone give me an idea as to how to mix stereo sample. I want to sample some percussion with 3 mics for each instrument, 1 close and 2 overheads (or is that a bad idea). I will be recording about 5 different instrument. What is the best way to mix each sample. Should I pan the close mics at centre and the overheads left and right for each sample or leave them all at centre then pan them when I mix all the samples together in a song. I am a rookie so I appreciate any help.
