Hi,
I have both Windows XP and Windows Vista, WMP 10 and 11.
I'm looking for some kind of Windows Media Plugin, codec pack, or software that I can purchase that will install an ACM (Audio Compression Manager) compatible MP3 encoder, allowing programs to encode MP3s using ACM functionality.
My computers currently have a Fraunhofer MP3 codec installed, the one included by Microsoft, but this seems to be a decode-only version.
How can I legitimately purchase and install an MP3 codec? Presumably the company would have to be licensed by Fraunhofer?
I believe Lame supports ACM http://lame.sourceforge.net/download
