We are making a langauge learning CD. English and Japanese in each track. Should we use the same mic and use one channel.
Or should we have each person record separately so it is easier to mix each persons voice.
We have 180 separate 1 minute tracks to do.

Also if I use mixcraft for example to record the tracks. Is it better to save in the mixcraft format for an engineer to master it or will wav or other format be ok?

- If my engineer uses Adobe audition should I use that too, so when I send him the files he can change the levels better?
Would appreciate any tips on how to do this.
Thanks

I would record to seperate tracks, giving you more control later. WAV files are usually the best way to pass around audio files, because anyone can import them into the software they are using.

Are you mixing these yourself and then sending them to a mastering engineer, or is the engineer doing the mix?
