I'm trying to clarify this, Opus. This article from motherboards.org reports DDR2700 support as well as LAN in the "E' as , as well:

In addition, the 'E' shows 1394 Firewire, ATA133, and S/PDIF connectivity. Do these features alter your preference in any way?
The 'E' was also designed to permit hyperthreading. Perhaps the 'V' does also.
Thanks for the comments and your expertise!

Well, here's the thing. The 845E chipset does not have the nod from Intel as supporting anything higher than PC2100. When the 845G chipset came out they did announce it as "unofficially" supporting PC2700 at 333. So, this motherboard.org site(being somewhat new and not that highly visited amongst major techies) may just be doing this on their on fruition.
Regardless of that, the 845G chipset is the major key player and is a later developed chipset woth better throughput. That is why you would truly want to go that route
Cheers and Happy Turkey day

The V is a great since it has onboard LAN and it "does" suppport DDR 333 at PC2700!!! Not "officially" but it does!
