Hi guys,

Which preamp would You choose for Brauner Panthera?

It would be used for mainly vocals (both sung and voice-over) and sometimes instruments, usually solo.

So, I aI'm at 800-1000 euros price.

If Your answer is "it depends on what kind of sound do You want" then give me some examples of particular sound in mind
So... "x preamp for larger-than-life vocals but no so good for y" or "x preamp for transparent sound but not if your after y sound" etc...

I've often wanted to try a few different Brauner mics. I've heard they are excellent.

I have preamps for certain flavours and would be looking for a valve and Fet. And I would be looking for a few flavours of those as well (gritty and transparent).

Answering this is really a crap shoot so rather than telling you to tell us more ( someone else can do it) I'd go with 500 series.

SPL Premium (the 500 series) is an incredible preamp because it is silk , big and noble ( I love saying that!) and they have an added line out ideal for comparing other gear including [[url=http://[/URL]="http://recording.or…"]parallel processing[/]="http://recording.or…"]parallel processing[/].
A Great River 2NV, or Neve' ish sound would be smart. They have some grit to clean flavours.
API for vibe.
Millennia for transparency in a good way.

Maybe even look at a channel strip EQ, comp, pre combo.
UA might be cool.

500 series is what I would be looking for at that price but you will also need to invest in a rack to start. But once you have the kit, you can add slowly.

Well, it would be easier for me not to go down the 500 series route, I know that it would pay off if when I add another module but its initial price is the problem.

Unfortunately, my first choices are all in 500 series format. Great river semms like bes choice for me but it is a bit over the aimed price ( at least in Europe). What do You guys think about Daking MicPre One?
