I'm not familiar with that specific unit but one thing to keep in mind when dealing with tubes is no 2 tubes sound the same. So it is very difficult to make an educated recommendation as it really depends on the tube. If you put a different one in, it will sound completely different. And so will the next and the next and the next.
As to their build quality, they seem to make some very nice pieces of equipment so I can only imagine that it will be more than adequate and last you for a fair while?

the Tube pre was very harsh and distorted. I didn't like it at all.
So i promptly returned it and bought my GrooveTubes "Brick", which costed me $200 more, but well worth it.
