Hi all and happy holidays!

Anyone has done a comparison between a 4ch Sytek MPX- 4Aii and a 4ch Sebatron vmp 4000e?-

I have both. The Sytek is a clean amp but very sterile, lacking in character. It does have a serious lack of headroom. Plan on buying in-line pads unless all your mic have them. The Sebatron is a more versitile amp although it could use a bit more headroom as well. On most things though, the Sebatron creates a very "musical" distortion when pushed hard, the Sytek is not so pleasing. If I had the extra cash I would sell the Sytek and Buy another Sebatron, but for now it will have to due.

thanxs guys- Looks that a sebatron will be the future keeper- the intended use will be singer songwriter stuff- 4ch of male lead voice, acoustic guitar, female back up voice and bass (probably direct)with some percussion overdubs and keyboard string pads overdubs...

right now I have a grace 101 which is good on the male voice and Im running the other instruments through (2ch) of motu 828 mkII (which isn't bad) and the yamaha mla7 (8ch) for whatever else I need- I also have drums but they are from the yamaha dtxpress so they go in in midi and I choose the sounds later- it all ends up in a dual 867 mac running digital performer 4.11- as I said, the mla7 and 828mkII preamps aint bad but I'm looking for better- word clock is achieved through an apogee rosetta AD, which also gives me AD conversion for 2 preamp channels - any suggestions are welcomed and happy new year! :D
