I can't see the menus in my head at the moment, but it's from within the midi synchonization bit. Plug in a midi in and out between the PC and the Tascam. Withing the synch page, set up the MMC with the appropriate midi in and out. That's about it. Now Cubase should control the Tascam, and the Tascam should control cubase. I'm at work right now so I can't give you all the details, but that should be enough to get you going. I run a couple of HD recorders and do this sort of thing all the time. Let me know how you get on. I'll check all my settings and get back to you as soon as I can.

In Cubase try setting up a generic remote..I would go to the Tascam BBS on the digital mixer forum and see if any one there is doing that...I know there are quite a few people using that setup over there.

Howdy! The generic remote set-up utility in Cubase works like a charm for any digital controller, as long as you can figure out the painfully complex assignment routine. I used it for my DA7 mixer, and can control 16 faders, mutes, panning and eq on/off. It took more than a few attempts, but once hitting the "learn" button starts to work, you're in business. It seems like it takes a while for the communication between the software and your hardware to get established. Or at least that was my experience. Again, once the ports started receiving controller messages, it all fell into place.
