okay i just moved to costa rica and i havent had my daw setup forever now. seems i forgot all the basics.

i have a Mackie cfx16 mixer and a delta 1010 breakout box version, and using using Cubase sx. i also have an 8 channel headphone amp that i have mostly for future use when i get more mics and such to record a whole band at a time?

i cant record my bass how i want over some drum sequencing i made up. the only way i can figure out how to route it correctly. the only way it works is to use the insert off the Mackie board straight to one of the 8 inputs on mydelta. the problem is i cant use the effects from my Mackie board, nor the EQ from it. if i try to use the main outs into the delta then my sequencing records in to my bass track :( i could have sworn i used to be able to set this up right but i have tried everything i can think of.
