Still interested in purchasing the Sonar program. Before I purchase the program I would like have the following questions answered:

1) How difficult is it to sync Sonar with an ADAT?

2) How solid is the sync?

3) I currently use the MOTU 2408 mkII and the MOTU Midi Timepiece AV as part of my computer's configuration. Is is possible to sync Sonar using these items?

I know that these questions are all related. However, the ADAT is an important part of my recording studio. I need to know that I can accurately sync the Sonar program with the ADAT.

I've used older version of Cakewalk for years. Used to sync these older Cakewalk versions to the ADAT using SMPTE. This, unfortunately, took one track away on the ADAT. I'm hoping that the Sonar program will sync to ADAT using MMC.

Thank you ahead for your consideration.

Respectfully,

It's a piece of CAKE...your MT/AV has a Adat sync port on the back.
2) How solid is the sync?
Very solid, Did a project with Five (5) Adat tapes, tranfered one tape at a time and the sync was solid.

I have the same set-up but, with 2/2408, and it works great.

Thanks a bunch!! It's good news!!

What's your take on SONAR 2?? I guessed I missed out on SONAR 1. Still seriously thinking about doing the upgrade. Just don't have the $$$ yet.

What version MOTU MTPAV are you using? The parallel port kind of the USB kind? I have the parellel port kind.

Regards,

Ted
