I know of a studio that has been using it as their DAW FE and the sound is quite impressive. Pre-amps are clean with loads of headroom and the EQ seems very warm and musical. A group I play with is about to record our second LP at this facility and will be using the toft extensively, so I'll be happy to post some raw samples after our first tracking session on the 19th.

Well, it's not really an apples to apples comparison. It's comparing a hybrid vs pure analog console. The GS-24M is slick console and certainly has some great features that toft doesn't have (motorized faders, daw/midi control, etc..). The toft is basically giving you a trident 80 console in a smaller package and really is high-quality analog FE at a viable price point. It really depends on what your needs are from a workflow perspective (for me, daw integration is crucial). The price points for these are drastically different as well, with the GS-24M at around 10k and the toft at around 6k.

From a sound perspective, I haven't heard much done on the GS-24M as it just started shipping in january. Personally, I would want to see how they are performing a year from now under some rigorous studio use before shelling out 10k for one.

Ya I am mainly looking into the analog side of the boards..with the A&H it would be nice with the daw but its not really that big of deal for me, I have an Tascam 24ch DAW interface I can still use if needed. The money thing is not a concern either. With the Toft I would want to upgrade the ad/da system I have with more ins and outs so it will make up for the price difference, though I do noot know how good the conversion is from the card in the A&H.

I have been a fan of A&H for some time actually, I really love there EQ's for the price and there pre's are nice and quiet. Just thought the Toft could be a bit of an upgrade on the analog side of it.

Well, if you are mainly concerned with analog tone and performance, I would have to put my recommendation on the toft. No sense in paying 4k extra for features you don't need in a console that's brand new on the market and doesn't have much of a proven track record. If the need isn't urgent, I would wait and see how the A&H does in the marketplace and in practical application.

The Toft is a sweet console. When I grow up I'll probably trade the Ghost for one. I love the quality of the sound.
