I'm going to admit something so terribly wrong that I should be flogged, whipped with a wet noodle, tarred and feathered, extradited and any other cruel and unusual punishment so deserving of me.
I bought an ATA100 RAID controller...attached my drives to them and started up the machine..now, I'm doing this for a test on building systems that do not have an IDE drive AT ALL on the primary and secondary IDE Bus. Silly me didnt think that I would need to say, back up my storage drive before setting up a RAID configuration. .need I say more..
AAARRRGGGHHHH...of all people who knows this did it! Is that just a big ol slap in the face from a bluefish or what?
I'm just doing this to admit that I, Gary Brenner, have become a dunce. I will now sit in the corner with my thumb in my mouth(along with my toe-jam) and dunce hat. .

Yikes! Been there, done that. Sometimes, you can just put the old drive back onto a regular IDE controller and run scandisk. It will repair the boot sector and everything comes back. This only works if you didn't format and install an OS, if you only just set-up the array.
I love computers
