Hey Guys,
I'm brand new to the recording game and was wondering what the best budget preamp/audio interfaces were for home recording. I have a new macbook pro and want to record guitar and vocals.
In terms of budget I probably don't want to spend much more than $200 as I'm also buying a mic.
Any help would be awesome, thanks :)
Is your Macbook Pro one of the models that still has a FireWire
Is your Macbook Pro one of the models that still has a FireWire port? If so, consider the TC Electronic Konnekt 6, but there's not a lot else around that's of any quality at or below the $200 mark.
If you have to use USB for interfacing, you could look at the Presonus AudioBox USB or Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. I've also heard good reports of the Lexicon Omega Desktop Recording package being good value if you are starting really from scratch.
Which microphone are you thinking of getting?
