I recently wrote and recorded a song. I wrote all the music except for the vocal melody which was written by my song-writing collaborator along with the lyrics. I am fairly proud of this song and I'd like to get some feedback but to be honest, I'm a little worried about it getting snatched for something. I have applied for registration of the song at copyright.gov but the status is still "open". We are both taking equal credit and ownership of the song. We are also working on more but this is the first. SO I guess my first question would be, DO you think it's safe to post the song for review yet?

My other question is, even if the rights are secured, could there be any backlash against me getting the song seriously marketed later by a record company if I have already published the song myself by submitting it to radio stations, the web, etc.

Just wondering. Any advice would be welcome.
