Just after you sent me the email about the Aeta. I got a page link asking me to confirm it was an email (anti spam thingy) but you still didn't get it by the sound of it. I'll re send it now.

You can find most of the remote people over at GS these days. The days of big trucks and multiple 24-tracks are over, but there is still plenty of live work to be found.

Also, people don't come here to the mobile forum much. Most folks are recording in their bedroom closet. Those that are still recording clubs and shows (very damn few) don't seem to want advice. As Moonbaby said, the days of running out a 48 channel board to work a show are done unless you get to the stadium level.

Ya, like everything in this business, up and down or gone. Our traffic is up by 22% and growing but it seems its pretty much ITB and newbies trying to understand this all. We treat them well around here.
And then there is me, hybrid full steam ahead and interests there is growing indeed.

As a frequent stalker on many boards I find that having the category "below the fold" of the screen, hidden amongst many others seems to keep posts (and traffic?) way down. Perhaps try moving Mobile Recording up?

I love this guy! And, the continued quest for people looking for support on their purchases is what makes it so stupid. We used to have that crowd here, not as out of control and big mind you, but RO started 3 years before GS. It got really ugly around here and drastic measure took place. In turn, I made some enemies and a lot of good friends came out of that fiasco.

The mods and members keep this place real, with kindness attached. We love the way it is here and don't mind sending the attitudes there.

GS is an excellent place to buy and sell gear, I like and trust the itrader comments.

They seem to have a similar problem at GS that you have tried to address over here...intellectually-challenged individuals who mis-post in the wrong forum. It's like I tell my people:"You can't fix stupid". As more and more amateurs pour into the diminishing spots of "recording engineer/producer" (a lot are retiring...), you end up with this. As has been said much times before, we're seeing an era going bye-bye. To the tune of "Baby, Baby"...!!!!

Definitely. An increase of bad attitude and stupid mixed together with a few people trying to have a good conversion is everywhere.

Our search has doubled in the last 2 years. We are breaking records on unique visitors but less posting. Newbies trust us here, so I'm told over and over. More so than GS. We have a solid community here that comes across as trust worthy and helpful.

Personally, I don't if I have ads here or this place gets any busier either. I like it just like this. Our main core makes this place special.
