You very likely don't have the best mic to fit your voice and the right match of the mic to a preamp that can make that mic shine. Since you didn't mention the mic or the preamp, your not likely going to get much useable advice. Mabe you should go take that mic back and listen to few other mics until you find one that suits your needs. If you bought a mic that cost only a few hundred dollars, then you got what you paid for...

I really believe that akg's have a great sound to them and as far as making your voice warmer ...a good compressor and a mic pre-amp should do the job. :D
