First of all, excuse my mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker.
I'm a complete newbie to the world of audio recording, doing my best to learn how all of this works, and with the crazy amount of audio devices for recording, I'm starting to have a bit of trouble finding my way through ...
My home setup (bought a week ago) is as follows :
Shure SM58->XLR-> ART Tube MP->XLR->mini-jack adaptor->Line-In Mac Book Pro
All I want to do is to record some nice and clean vocals for different music-styles, mostly electronic and pop.
So, I was wondering, is the gear that I have sufficient ? Or is there something I'm missing ? I tested it and the gain seemed a bit low, and there a was bit of white noise (nearly inaudible) ... but since it's my first time recording, I don't know if it's normal ...

I understand that you're probably on a budget.....then again, you have a Macbook. You couldn't possibly be that bad off. The XLR to mini jack is the weak part of your chain.
