Hi!

I picked up my current DAW about a year ago and it's been treating me fine up until now.



However, I've recently acquired a copy of Waves Diamond and have been attempting to use it in my projects for pro mix/master sound. I would really like to take advantage, but my system's just not up to it.

I am planning for AMD Athlon 64 (Socket 939) and would like to know which motherboard will be suitable for my expected specifications.



I wish to get the motherboard (Socket 939) that enables the below specs:



MUST BE COMPATIBLE with my Tascam US-122 (Anyone with experience?)

Supports HyperTransport Technology

Hey, I just picked up a 2.6 ghz Celeron Dell laptop and I wondered as a whole how much faster it is compared to my Athlon 1.7 desktop. Just for curiousity...

Is anyone sucsessfully using any aardvark product with an athlon 64 set up?

If so what chipset are you using?

Since aardvark is out of business I have been unable to find this info.

Perhaps I will be the first to try it.

Want to roll new DAW and would like to know if anyone has used the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with an Athlon CPU? Am looking at the Athlon XP3500+ - any horrible experiences to look out for?

So I'm considering a new desktop that will be primarily, but not exclusively for audio. Right now I use my laptop for everything. Last time I looked into this I was figuring on an Athlon 3200+ (Barton) on a mobo with Nvidia Nforce2 chipset and matrox 450. Should I be considering an Athlon 64? FX? Pros, cons? Cost differential. All opinions welcome.

I would like to know your opinions. I've been using Pentium computers for years and they have always worked better for me than AMD (always testing same Processor speed, Ram and so.

But I heard a lot of people telling that Athlon is supposed to be better for audio aplications.

What do you think about it?

Hi.. I'm looking to buy some really good motherboard for Athlon XP, so I wanted your opinion. Do you suggest getting a dual system ? Which chipset ? VIA vs NFORCE vs something else ? I need the motherboard for my main DAW... It would be nice to have the firewire interface (but I guess all the newer motherboards do...). Which models should I avoid ?
