Hey when comping vocals and there is a note that is a little late or a little early with respect to the beat, you want to shift that syllable so it's in line with the notes on the beat. I'm having trouble with this. Doing it by ear seems a little hit and miss. Is there a more scientific way to know if a particular vocal's syllable is aligned with a note on the beat?
Soon I will be doing live band sessions for local bands in my erea.

Hi there!
I recently found some precise info about the most secret Multitrack Alignment. Still I 'm not sure exactly where to ajust.
Anybody can help me with some pictures?
I'm working with a Master recorder - Studer B 67
Thanks a lot from Amsterdam!
I've got an MCI tape recorder 24 track, I think my erase head is not align properly, theres an erase peak knob on the control card of each track, but I dont really know how to do it, does anybody knows?
Hello,
Hi guys,
I have to transfer some reel tapes to CDs. The tapes are dbx encoded and have a series of recorded tones. Are these tones for heads alignment only, or do they have something to do with dbx adjustment, as well? Also, I'd appreciate insights on proper dbx adjustment. I have all measuring equipment and know how to use it.
Thanks
