I recently had a problem with cracks and pops in my audio during recording and playing back. What I did according do help from friends and forums :

-Used the Tascam dsp mixer for monitoring instead of Cubase to save processing power

Hello everybody!

So, I have bought the newest T-Racks 5 and I have experienced a subtle delay in the response of its VST plugins.

Could someone please tell me the best possible configuration to avoid this problem in Samplitude?

For example, is VIP object buffer 1024 better/faster than 4096?

Let me explain...
I decided to check how the latency was with the fireface 800 I just got.
I'm set at 512 and decide to do a round trip through my 2 LA-610.
The chain was, line out of the RME, line in of the LAs, AD96 and S/PDIF to the RME.
I took a drum sample that I played and recorded the re-amp version.

Hello! My first post on the site (been lurking for a while). The community here seems to be very helpful and knowledgeable, so I thought this would be a great place to seek help. I'm having some sound issues with my home recording. There is some "crackling" and "popping" sounds during the recording of my vocals.

Hey Guys,
I've been searching for a way to reduce my recording latency, and increase my buffer size in Reason 5.0.

I'm using a Lenovo G555 laptop
OS is Windows 7, AMD, Athalon II, Dual Core M340, 2200 mHz
Sound Card is Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD- running the original Driver that came with the machine

Hi! This comes from an indirect issue - I've just arrived at Cubase 5's land, coming from Nuendo 3.2. I was expecting a performance boost, as I was in the belief C5 would cope better with my Quadcore PC.

Buffer and Buffer Setting:
This is an important step in setting up your DAW, and many musicians new to digital hardware may not be aware of its significance. When you attach a sound card (audio interface) to your computer, you will have the option of setting buffer sizes, which will directly affect the latency of the signal through your interface.

The internal RAM area that stores the current mix settings (i.e. the current mix scene). When a mix scene is stored, the Edit Buffer data is copied to the selected scene memory. When a mix scene is recalled, the data of the selected scene memory is copied back to the Edit Buffer.
