I wanted to know your opinions on recording w/ two 12" speakers.
I have been thinking about getting a two 12 cabinet to record with. Is there really any reason that most guys use a four 12 cabinet?
Shouldn't two 12's be enough?
Of course my guitar amp head is like 125W.
This might sound like a strange question, but I hear a lot about mic cabinets, or lockers, or closets...
How do all of you like to store your mics? Is "locker" just an over-all term used in an allegorical way? Or do you actually have a locker/cabinet/closet dedicated to locking up your mics?
Again, how do ya'll store and care for your mics?

Just like to say that I considered building (or buying) just such a cabinet (like the one in Kurt's fine review) until I realised how easy it actually is to relocate your computer outside of the studio room.
What is a good price for a 4 x 12 cabinet? I hear the celestions are still what most guys want, as far as speakers. But the cabinet I was looking at is a Hughes & Kettner cc 412 wa, it sells new for $1300. It that way too much? Or is this a case of, you get what you pay for?
I just ordered a K2 today. Was wondering about other peoples experiences using a tube mic (specifically the K2) on cabinets...

I've been reading a lot lately :roll: , about Micing guitar cabinets.
And when the pros talk of their favorite Micing techniqes, it involves finding the best speaker and put their favorite mics on it and deal with the phase issues. Is'nt it more logical to put the mics on separate speaker cones, to honor the 3-1 rule and be free from phase problems?
