I just upgraded to Sonar x1 producer expanded and am wonder what files should go on which drives? I have the ssd c drive for the OS, programs and all vst dll. files, and two 1tb caviar blacks drive D and E. D is for the audio and E for sample libraries. Can someone give me a rundown on how to install specific Sonar folders to the right destination for optimal performance?

I am trying to transfer songs recorded on the Yamaha P155 using a USB Storage device to a Macintosh computer. Unfortunately Yamaha mention the keyboard's documentation that to accomplish transferring songs between a computer and a P155 keyboard using a USB storage device one must install their "Musicsoft Donwload Software" which is only available for Windows PC.

I've recently been using Logic for my recordings. I'm almost out of space on my Hard Drive and I don't have a DVD burner. Just wanted to know what you all use for your storage. Also, I have a Mac and PC, wanted to know if there was an External Hard Drive out there able to be partitioned to handle both formats simultaneously.

Hi, always wondered about the following:

1. How often would you pros out there recommend replacing a mic/instr/interconnect cable. I have some quality cables I soldered up some five years ago now (looks fine, gold plugs etc), are they still good for critical recording?

My band recently recorded a Pro Tools session at a local studio, and now we need to return with some sort of storage medium before they dump all the work we did. My first reaction was to pick up an external firewire hard drive, but my band wants to save the money and just use one of their iPods (which can act as an external hard drive). My guess is that this won't work, but I'm not sure.
