Hi, guys. I haven't been around for a while but have been lurking lately as I'm researching some gear purchase options.
In doing so, I've been asked to dig into mLAN devices and the functionality of them in our applications. Having never had any hands on experience with mLAN, I'm trying to figure out as much as I can just by reading, etc. From what I can tell, this was a format/solution spearheaded by Yamaha that doesn't seem to have ever really taken off or delivered on its promises. I'm not finding many mLAN compatible interfaces or recorders out there, and I'm finding a handful of users, including some here, who haven't had good experiences with it. Even at Yamaha's website, in looking at an expansion card for our DM2000, I find this behind the link for the card:

From that link, I don't think this is even a viable format anymore.
My ultimate question is, am I getting the whole picture here? Having gotten away from recording for the past several years, I'm trying to re-learn myself.

And thanks for moving the thread. I was thinking of it from a hardware/gear standpoint, since that's what I've been searching for. However, the lack of results in that search led to my question, which I see now was a computing question.
