never see any postings for this mic.very sensitive mic having trouble with vocals.can't seem to get it to dialed in.even with a low amount of gain it distorts way to easily for male blues type vocals. It sounds killer on cymbals though.all i'm doing is running the mic thru 1 channel on the ghost with no compression.

blown headphones?
I figured out my distortion problem.I was using pioneer headphones that are either blown or the wrong spec's .the output being extremely loud should of been a dead giveaway, but once again because of my inexperience I jumped to conculsions that either the mic or the ghost were shot.for some reason the headphones sound fine on everything but the ghost, so I thought they were fine just real loud.the ghost headphone output is spec'd at +14dbu at max.what headphones should i be using for tracking and mixing?

I'm a big fan of the 4040. It works well on a variety of sources and is transparent enough to be used on a lot of tracks in a single project. 8-)

I am having good results with the AT 4033 I just bought, here is a song of me singing into it.
Signal Chain:
Voice -> AT4033 -> Mackie 808s Mixer -> Tape output to computer (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card) -> Mackie Traction software to record.
No EQ, just a bit of reverb on guitar and vocals. Guitar pickup is plugged directly into the Mackie 808s input.

Great recording! Do you have a good acoustic environment? I have a couple of mics from the 40 series, but not the 4033. Very nice sound!

Hi, actually I have a high two-story ceiling in my living room, which I have always thought was echoey, but it doesn't appear to affect the recordings. There is wall-to-wall carpeting which helps, but overall no special setup for sound really.
