Anyone know why Adobe Audition will not allow me to select inputs 3-16 on my Tascam US-1641. I have set up the new Tascam unit but when I try to view my input selection in Audition, it only shows the Tascam unit as a whole. I can record using channels 1 and 2, and it will play back on the monitor outputs, but nothing else.
I am not a fan of CuBase, but since it came with the Tascam unit, I installed it on my computer as well thinking that Audition was the problem. CuBase showed channels 3-16 as "inactive" whatever that means.
My PC meets or exceeds the specs required by Tascam for this unit.
I fired off an e-mail to the support center of Tascam but have not got a reply. I wanted to see of anyone else has had this problem and hopefully get some advise.
Thanks in advance for any help.

In Cubase you need to activate the VST inputs. Devices menu/VST inputs. Please lpost any samples and any info as to how many tracks you are able to simultaneously record if you have the time. It would be appreciated.
Okay, I got an answer from Tascam. Adobe Audition 1.5 does not
Okay, I got an answer from Tascam. Adobe Audition 1.5 does not support the Tascam US-1641 interface. It has something to do with then internal clock in the Tascam unit. There is not a way (at least not one they or I know of) to change the clock Audition 1.5 uses to the internal clock in the Tascam unit.
I downloaded a trial version of Audition 3.0 and selected the internal clock of the Tascam unit and I was off and running.
I have done some recording on the unit but didn't have enough to fill the entire unit at once. I wen ahead and tried 10 of the 14 inputs at once and no problem there. I am looking forward to loading it with all the 14 analog inputs to see how it will handle it.
So far I am pleased, but I must confess. When I purchased this interface, I did install a seperate USB 2.0 PCI card. I haven't tried this in the same USB ports as the printer, mouse, and scanner. The USB 2.0 PCI card cost $25. If this keeps me from having data errors, it is worth it.
I am happy to provide any feedback to anyone wishing or thinking about buying one of these. Hueseph, I do have a snip .mp3 from a session that I am currently working on, all recorded with this unit. Send me a message with your e-mail and I will attempt to send it to you.
