I know I asked you this before so please give me a refresher.
When Setting up ASIO MultiMedia Setup...What should be checked and what should not be checked?
Kind of off topic..When I use SYstemWorks Speed Disc now with Win XP and 2K it takes much longer than it did with 98 and ME...Do you know why that is?

The ASIO setup is wierd...it depends on your system sometimes and what other cards you have installed..I've been letting my soundblaster be the only card selected for input and output and havent had a single issue. If you have a second card such as a sound blaster then set that as the sync source device..it's totally fine to do that..sometimes setting the 428 is good for certain ASIO VSTi's..it somehow helps with latency issues and so forth..
So.."if" you need to set the 428 as the sync source for the ASIO setup..
do it in this order...
Set latency to 256 in US428 Control Panel
Close out of it..open ASIO Setup..
Advanced Options...make US428 the sync source for INput and Output..put both listings to the top of the list..Under Card options..deselect Full Duplex and Start Input First..hit ok..hit ok..run test..it shoudl pass from there..
Again...this is not neccessary..this was found by me when doing a series of tests to find out ehy it wouldnt pass when people were having issues with it..

Are you using NTFS? If so, it will take longer to defrag, because there's more information it has to deal with. Hence you can shut off the computer, and if no files were open on FAT16 and FAT32 partitions, you won't have to wait through a scandisk.
