I have both, I love both, I need and rely on both. They can not be directly compared because they are very different sounding. Which one is better has more to do with how or what you will be using it on then it does with the anything that makes one better that the other in terms of quality.

I've used the 4060 on vocals for a young vocalist lately...and I like it...

Compared to a 4050 the 4060 has a smoother top end and better low end response.......

It's a great mic overall...
