Hello all. I have a fairly simple question. I need to record ReWire into Pro Tools. I can hear my Reason beats but I'm having trouble actually getting them to record. Does anyone have a good way to do it? Thank you.

Recording Reason into ProTools

Hi,

the easiest way to record Reason into ProTools is to create a stereo aux input in Protools. Then put the Reason plug-in across the aux input channels (it comes with ProTools now). This will automatically start up Reason and you can either clock Reason's sequencer from ProTools or drive the modules in Reason from your MIDI channels in ProTools.

You can then assign the outputs of the aux inputs through a stereo bus to a couple of audio tracks to record what is coming in from Reason. If you have enough computer grunt you can bring in the separate Reason tracks through individual ProTools inputs...just make sure they are assigned properly in the plug-in.

If you are clocking Reason from ProTools, make sure that your tempo is correct and I usually go in and save my Reason file with the ProTools Tempo is case I want to fire up Reason on its own to work on the file.

Okay, bear with me here this is the first time I'm trying to do this as I don't use Reason much but a client needs it done.

I've created a Stereo Aux input and assigned it's input to Bus 1-2 and I have my Reason Plug-in on the Aux channel. I created a stereo Audio track and assigned the Bus 1-2 on it's insert. I get a signal on my Aux channel but nothing on my Audio channel. I tried to arm my Audio channel and record and still nothing. I believe I'm missing something. Thank you for the help.
