The thing about guitar amps is they generally only sound really fantastic on one channel. Dual Recs have great distortion, but the cleans are some of the blandest tube cleans I've ever heard. If you aren't a clean freak, then I think Mesa Boogies are a good choice. Plus, all the options the dual rectifier has really makes it versatile and convenient. There are always Carvin amps, which are very underrated if you ask me. The V3 is the first amp I've played that I really could radically change the sound on each channel without sounding noisy, bland, or processed. Conrad. In your case probably the Velvet Hammer, But then some of the Blues Jammers with the proper tubes and speaker setup would do the trick. Email him and send him soundclips. They're kinda expensive but no more than the big amp shops charge for hand made perfection.

Every weekend I hear and play on a Carr Hammerhead and a Bogner Metropolis. Both KILL. The Bogner is more versatile... the Carr is more JTM45 sounding.
