Hi! I have issues recording good guitar tracks from my amplifier and I'd like to pick up a rack guitar processor that can sound good and have good tones.

Any idea of a cheap rack I can get to sound fairly well before mixing?

Thanks a lot! :)

How bad does your guitar amplifiers sound? Tube or transistor? Paper or plastic? Large or small? There are hundreds of stomp boxes and almost as many guitar processors. They all do what they are supposed to do depending upon what you want. Then there are are also software plug-ins for manipulating your guitar in non-real-time. One of the best guitar processors I created was in the control room during a session. I utilized a blown up power supply (bad rectifier bridge) utilized a couple of alligator clip wires across the input to a UREI 1176 cranked up all the way. Great fuzz & sustain and was exactly what the song needed. So some broken things work well as a guitar processor.
