one of my friends had said that when i get reason, before i download it, Cubase cant be on my computer in order for it to work (properly?). i know that rewire is for reason to work with Cubase at the same time, but is it true they cant be on the same computer?

At one point in time there were some rewire problems with older versions of cubase, but reason ships with a rewire fix for older versions. If you have the latest version of cubase you'll be fine. I have them on the same machine with no prob's and I also have Nuendo on the same machine and they all play nice with each other.
