I've been using Acid with the Firepod on a PC (AMD 1.8ghz with 256 ram) and noticed that it will jitter when the playhead crosses over sliced looped sections or when tracks that weren't previously played are played. I've upgraded the firmware, but it has only improved the situation a little. I've set the buffer time to the max (25 ms), but the jitter is still there. The Firepod works great with Cubase, and before I started using the Firepod, Acid worked fine on my computer.
I've considered adding more RAM or getting a faster system, but I don't really want to invest the money if this is a known problem using Acid with the Firepod. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? If so Thanks!

You need more RAM. Acid being a loop based program, wants to load your sample into memory. Because you only have 256 megs and because windows (not to mention the drivers for the firepod) requires a good portion of that just to function, Acid is having to constantly read and write to disc. Hence the jitter. You will probably want at least 1 Gig of RAM if you want jitter free recording in Acid.
