You've obviously saved the files in 32-bit (or is that CoolEdit-Code for 24-bit?) format, which neither iTunes nor WMP can open. A standard Audio CD is 16-bit/44.1 khz so you'll need to convert them. In Cooledt:

Make sure you have backups of the original files! Now, open the file, press F11. (I think that's the standard keycommand for "convert sample rate and bit depth", or whatever they call it). Set the file to be converted to - you guessed it - 16 bit, 44 khz. (There should be a preset.) Press OK, save the file - done!

If you need to do this to a lot of files there's a "Batch convert" option in the File-menu.

why don't use make in cool edit pro "save copy as" and then choose mp3 (you can even choose which bitrate too use in the options there...)
if not save in other formats... but use that save copy as

if you save with mp3 256 it will be very near cd quality!
my itunes let's me use pcm waves
are you sure you can't import 16bit 44100 to itunes?
if you need help converting in cool edit to 16 44100 i'll tell you how!

If you "convert sample type" to 44.1 KHz - 16 bit Stereo - then save as Windows PCM you shouldn't have any trouble with any software reading or playing the file. You won't have any format options once the file is 16 bit.

thanks a lot guys for some reason, before when i saved in mp3, when i wouldplay it in windows media player it would sound like garbage, and then fine in itunes. but iguess windows media just makes them sound like crap. thanxagain
